Mr. Chou is a Hong Kong SFC registered investment adviser (RO on Tye 4 advising on securities; RO on Type 9 asset management) under the Securities Ordinance. Mr. Chou started his financial career in California’s banking industry in the early 90’s before coming back to Asia. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Chou was employed by NIF International (Asia) in Hong Kong as a portfolio manager focusing on Greater China. NIF International is an investment management company established in Hong Kong and an overseas subsidiary of NIF SMBC Ventures. Mr. Chou then founded AVANTA Investment Management Limited in 1999 in Hong Kong to focus on China direct investments. Mr. Chou also co-founded a Shanghai-based investment management platform to participate in the RMB-based private equity investment fund operation in the Greater Shanghai area, including governmental fund management mandates. Mr. Benji Chou received an MBA degree from UCLA in the U.S. and a BS degree in Statistics from Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan.
