Horizon fuel cell developed a complete line of renewable energy science experiment sets and battery-free toys. In 2009 we partnered with science experts and educators in the US to develop high value educational content and teacher manuals that will bring renewable energy to the classroom. The ressources section of this website offer a detailed look at fuel cells and other clean energy technologies, provide useful informatio as well as specially-designed animated explanations.

In the last few months, the Horizon team created numerous additions to our educational kits, including a new comprehensive textbook covering the topic of renewable energy science, free downloadable experiment manuals, teacher notes and classroom guides, animated flash demonstrations, and many media files. This newly developed content complements the award-winning educational kits and toys we have been developing over the last 4 years. WindPitch is a miniature real-working wind turbine (wind power generator) designed for students to evaluate the pitch (setting angle) of the profiled blades. Up to 12 profile blades can be installed for evaluation. Learn how the blade pitch and number of blades affect the power output of the wind turbine to maximize the output power. Experimentation also teaches about stalling or reduction of the wind turbine's rotational speed to protect itself under strong wind conditions.

WindPitch includes 3 different types of profiled blades and 1 type of Poly-propylene sheet blades in a complete package that allows many blade parameters to be evaluated.The special 3 Phase AC alternator used in the WindPitch is similar to the one used in real commercial wind turbine. WindPitch comes with an LED Voltmeter / Music Maker Module to demonstrate the power created from the wind energy in the form of musical sounds and illuminated LED lights. Contained inside is a complete curriculum on wind energy with easy to follow experiment manual, assembly guide, and background history on the technology and wind power generators.

The Renewable Energy Monitor is an educational evaluation monitoring device with measurement software for graphical display of performance characteristics on your PC. It offers a 2 line LCD screen for viewing measurements that you cycle through at the push of a button - avoiding the multimeters confusing setup and cumbersome computations. The Renewable Energy Monitor is battery operated so it can also be used with or without a computer - indoors or outdoors - where you can make direct solar and wind measurements.

Horizon developed the Renewable Energy Monitor to allow you to avoid using the multimeters confusing setup and cumbersome computations in order to provide an immediate, graphical way for recording data directly- with no formulas and nothing to calculate. The H-racer is a micro-version of what engineers and scientists have been dreaming about for real cars: combining hydrogen with oxygen to generate a DC current to power an electric motor. Unlike a gas-powered car engine, the only byproducts are electricity and pure water. Horizon has created a unique, patented miniature fuel-cell car and hydrogen refueling station. These storage cylinders can be used with any electrolyzer and/or reversible fuel cell to store a small quantity of hydrogen and oxygen to be used to power a PEM fuel cell. Includes tubing to connect the cylinders to the fuel cell.
